A Luxurious Holiday on the Beach
My husband and I own a mail-order business, supplying the latest in luxury gift items including electronics, jewelry, and accessories. Our website gets a lot of hits during the holiday season, starting with a trickle of orders after Labor Day weekend. Come Thanksgiving and the mad rush starts. We worked sixty hours a week throughout the winter, from the end of October, right through the Christmas holidays and the New Year to the end of January .By the second week of February, all Valentine’s Day orders had been dealt with and Easter is usually not so busy. So we decided on a luxury Caribbean vacation in a seaside resort to rejuvenate the body and the spirit with some lazy days in the sun, doing absolutely nothing. After all, we had earned it, after working so hard. Besides, what is the point in making money if you don’t pamper yourself every now and then?
We went to the Sandy Lane - Luxury Golf and Spa Resort in St. James, Barbados. We chose the Luxury Ocean Room in the Seahorse wing of the resort for its spectacular views of the sea and the sunsets. After the first few days of swimming and sunbathing, my husband went off to play golf in one of the three courses in the resort while I made reservations for a True Indulgence Four Hands Ritual at the Sandy Lane Spa. What bliss! The masseuses used one of their custom-made massage oils called Sunset Oil and I loved the languorous feeling of total relaxation at the end of the session. I found out that they had special treatments for golfers and booked one for my husband, knowing how much he would enjoy the luxury of the massage. You wouldn’t believe it - he was thinking of me at the same time and bought me a lovely diamond pendant at the Galleria in the resort’s Country Club.
